Favorite Hot Sauce.... GO!

I like Blair’s sauces. Has HEAT and FLAVOR as well- for the real hot, Sudden Death and Mega Death are my go-to sauces. Be cautious- only 2-5 drops needed!

His mildest offering, “Sweet Death” is outstanding on fried chicken!! Mangos and habaneros!!
Oh- the Death Nitro Rub IS excellent as a shake, shake offering- sprinkle on buttered corn on cob! YUM

NO!

That is a banned substance. Seriously I don't know what you guys are doing with mayonnaise in the US. I tried the mayo from Hellman and Heinz and find it awful. You should try some decent mayonnaise like we have here in Belgium. Can you get brands like Devos Lemmens (I am distantly related to the founders) or Vandemoortele? Those are the go to's.

I don't have a recipe at hand, but a friend of mine makes a real thick one. You really have to stab the lump of mayo with a fry. It's oily and non-sweet. The only sweetness comes from maybe some lemon juice if you choose to add it. Also up the mustard in the recipe for a bit more of a kick if you like, or not.

We take mayonnaise very seriously. Fries should go with mayonnaise, we invented fries so we would know. On another note you should learn to make fries the belgian way. And also search for steppegras.
I'm not that patriotic or chauvinistic, but on this topic I am. ;)

There is also sweet mayonnaise, or friet-saus and that is more akin to American mayo, but that is Dutch, we blame the dutch for that.

:)

Yay! @René_Julien !! I LOVE Mayo on nice fries- but agree it’s hard to take the supermarket American offerings! “Miracle Whip” is NO miracle. I don’t even know what it is. :vomit:

I agree might try my hand at making Mayo from scratch. Real lemon juice, a good fruity olive oil, and a generous grind of fresh black pepper, and a pinch of pink sea salt....
Fries would love it!!!

So how do they make fries in Belgium?

Also, loving the name on this one. Link Removed
The important thing is frying them twice. About 4 minutes at first. Then wait about an hour or longer, then fry again for max 3 minutes.

I prefer potatoes that contain a lot of starch (I don't know the variety, we call them bintje). So you haven an interesting crumbly texture in the middle. Also they taste nicer. Thickness is up to you. I prefer them real thin. So you have a lot a crisp fried edge area to inner substence ratio.

Check this out: steppegras.

That is a great story my friend. Congratulations on your healthy choices.
I started doing the same thing one month ago. I wasn't doing it for weight loss, but wow the pounds melt away so easily.
The biggest reward for me so far is the mental clarity and lack of sluggishness I dealt with. Like a fog over my brain all the time. I learned that for me, it was sugar causing that, and carbs. No more sugar for me of any kind, and carbs are very limited and chosen carefully. I still enjoy life and eating, but just so much more aware now of what I am putting into my body.
With how great I feel mentally, I can't give this up and go back to making unhealthy choices.
**PSA** the description of healthy choices above apply to my experience. I am not suggesting the key to a healthy lifestyle is making the same choices I have. Please consult a physician before making any dietary changes. :)

Weight loss wasn't really my goal, but I went from about 100kg to 85kg. It was just a change lifestyle due to circumstances. But I didn't have to force a diet. My normal natural routine is 90% healthy food 10% un-healthy and that works out perfectly.

Yup, I discovered that sugar does that. For me it was the sugar from alcohol abuse. People, seek help if you think this applies to you.

Good to know you are feeling better now Mike. It's great to think clear, act faster and zip about like a gazelle.

The latest additions to my carefully curated collection of spicy and hot sauces. Little to no heat from either, but packed full of sweet and smoky awesomeness.
Both are more like a BBQ sauce, especially the Adoboloco, but would be good in other dishes as well.
I had both on quinoa, fried rice, and on grilled chicken breast. I think these will become regulars in my collection.

The absolute BEST. Its not vinegar based like all the other horrendous crap out there, but has a vegetable base and tastes incredibly natural while packing a hella punch. It's my idea of perfection as far as HS is concerned. Think of it as the western sriracha.
I saw this thread and was wondering if Melinda's would get any mention. I like this version-[Invalid or Expired Link Removed]. Great flavor while packing a bit of heat.

Amazon….:cool:View attachment 4313353

I already looked!!:woot:- comes with great keychain hot sauce caddies! Great for on the go enhancement!!!

Nice, thanks. I dig the to go thing for sure since I've carried homemade pepper flakes to restaurants for years. I don't think I'll have any problem getting someone local to stock it though, assuming it's not already here.

Meanwhile, my DIY aged red habanero-based sauce is at 5+ years in the bottle by now and is just crazy good.

I have a Melinda's in my fridge, and it's delicious. It's getting low, and I probably need to look to replacing it.
