I personally like the soundgear basses. whenever I go to a guitar center or a sam ash, I oftenly play Ibanez basses. I've tried out many different ibanez basses and I always liked the soundgear basses the most. these basses are excellent for any genre of music.

I've heard a lot about how good Ibbys were in the '90s and how thin the current models sound by comparison, but I've never played older models so I can't tell - all I know for sure is that I love the SR500 and the EDB550 Awesome basses, great tones, very light instruments, and those necks are a dream

Ok, this is my first reply on this board and I hope I don't screw it up.

My first, and only bass at this point, is an Ibanez ex-series. I think it says EXB-404 on the back of its headstock. Its got me through quite a few years of playing ( bought it new in '93) and its still hanging in there. Any other ex-series owners out there??

Lefty here, very hard to find upscale Ibanez models for us southpaws. I have a pair of Soundgear basses that I like, especially my SR500L. Been playing it as my #1 for the last 10 years. Also started out with a Roadstar II (righty flipped). Never had issues with any of them.
