My bass is essentially a 900, but it has 22 frets, not 24 like the 924. I think on the warranty card it says it's a 920, so I might have an oddball on my hands. It looks exactly like the 900 though. I'll check the card tonight.(I never sent it in

Yes that's sweet bass, but I could get my hands on Neuser Crusade or Warwick FNA for that.
The new BTB's with the Flame Maple top, and Bartolini electronics are fabulous basses. They play really nice, and have a wonderful warm sound. I was almost considering one until I looked at the price tag! New it's almost as much as a used Alembic!
I checked my *never filled out* warranty card and can now tell the world that my Musician is a 900 DS model.
I know most of you didn't sleep last night thinking about it.

The Ibanez Black Eagle Bass is the coolest Jazz style bass ever made.
They were made from 1975-1977 I believe and featured awesome inlays, cool pickgaurd, crazy headstock f holes and a really friken cool body.
If I wasnt in school right now (word processing class) Id find some pics.

Gary Willis fretless five. It's the fretless I couldn't put down. Needs to be $700 cheaper, though.

I've got a SR 1500 since '90 & I still enjoy playing it. It's got a paduk body with a wenge & bubinga neck with an ebony board. I had a 2Tek bridge installed & changed the pre-amp to an 18v EMG BTS system (stock elecs were bogus non-EMG active junk, but pup's were, all marketing hype) & a brass nut. It doesn't compare to my Zon or Dingwall but it still kicks ass & I've played hundreds of gigs with it, so it has much more sentimental value than $$$ value, it's a keeper...

I love my SR-1206 to death, and I think that the upper-range Soundgears (1000's and up, Gary Willis, Doug Wimbish and Prestige models) don't get the "respect" they're due.
That being said, I think the BTB line is a major upswing in both the "name value" and quality of Ibanez basses. Even the lower 500 series are amazing values for the money. It seems as if Ibanez are finally making "basses for bassists" (as opposed to the thin-necked. lightweight "basses for guitarists" SR's), and are listening to what the consumer wants.
That being said, I think the BTB line is a major upswing in both the "name value" and quality of Ibanez basses. Even the lower 500 series are amazing values for the money. It seems as if Ibanez are finally making "basses for bassists" (as opposed to the thin-necked. lightweight "basses for guitarists" SR's), and are listening to what the consumer wants.

I do love the look of the new EDA models. I usually hate it when a company tries to make a "modern" looking bass, but those are truly interesting. I would love to try one out.
I've only ever played Soundgears, so I'm going to have to go with them. I know people hate them, but I love mine.

i never thought it that way... its so true!
one of my guitarrist picked up my BTB today and played for some minutes, then he said something like "phew, im already tired" and he kept playing some scale and then he just handed me the bass
i can go for hours playing it
that 35' scale and wide neck is a guitarist remover!
