Favorite jazz bass replacement pickups

Nordstrand NJ4SV.

Then again, the only pickups I've ever put in the Jazz are the stock MIMs and the DiMarzio Ultra J's.

EDIT: I have the Nordy on my fretless. I can post a clip tonight for you, if you'd like.

I would really appreciate that, I'd very much like to hear the nordstrand pickups on a fretless.

As far as my 74 Fender Jazz,pssst that easy the stock ones that it came with,My Marcus Miller V Seymour Duncans 70-74..sounds like the stock pup but they have more oompph to them.I tried all the others like Fralins, Nordstrands and even Jason Lollars,and they were great,but when I wanted that real gritty Fender sound those pups didn't have it were I wanted except the SD's for the MM5.

I just ordered a Fender American Standard Jazz Bass. If I put a set of Nordstrand NJ4SV pickups on it, is it still gonna have that classic Fender tone? I can't decide between the Nordstrand NJ4SV's or the regular NJ4's.

They are close in tone, but I still here the difference just a touch in the mids with the NJ4s.

I'm very partial to the NJ4s.

Make the holes bigger and use Nordstrand Big Singles. If you don't want bigger holes, use Nordstrand NJ4SV's in the stock routs.

After much research and listening to clips I went with NJ4's in my MIA Jazz and couldn't be happier.

for a true and authentic vintage jazz bass tone, the seymour duncan sjb1-n and sjb1-b are by far my favorite j bass pickups.
