I agree 100% on those!
A couple other LIVE Miles' things equal to that 1964 Tony Williams blowout-
Miles & Coltrane Live In Stockholm, 1960...Miles' chops are at their apex, IMO.
Miles In Tokyo...a rare chance to hear the great Sam Rivers with Miles' 2nd Great 5-tet.

I haven't gone through everyone's list(yet)-
If you wanna hear a drummer dominate...Chick Corea's Akoustic Band Live @The Tokyo Blue Note. Vinnie Coliauta almost leaves Corea & Patitucci in the lurch.
Dave B's Elektric Band Live In Switzerland 2003 is also happening.

Steve Khan's Eyewitness band-Blades & the Live In Koln, Germany boot.

...have always like Joni's Shadows & Light.

(And The Doors' In Concert, Deep Purple's Made In Japan, & The Allmans' Live At The Fillmore, Hendrix' Band Of Gypsies, etc).
;)

ooop's cant forget the Movie/Documentry Jimi Plays Monterey, Especially at the start where that guy paints a portrait of jimi to Can You See Me...leaves me gabberflasted everytime...i want to find a pic of that portrait so i can have it as my desktop pic....

Im not sure if you'll class this as live but chick corea's album Seabreeze...its the first chick album ive bought and im not sure if they're all liek this but it's all black and silver and has a cardboard sleeve/cover...also 2 videos i was given by a mates dad....

Return To Forever, a very special concert
L's Bop
Why Wait
500 Miles High
Guernica
And Nacy Wilson with Return To Forever, Recorded on the same night as the other one i think...both very good videos

Just found this thread and couldn't avoid the temptation of reliving it, since I'm also a big fan of live recordings:

-Deep Purple Made In Japan
-Kiss Alive!
-Supertramp Paris. I never was a Supertramp fan, but this recording made realize how good they were.
-Pink Floyd The Delicate Sound Of Thunder. Many can say that "Pulse" is far superior, and maybe it is as a show, but I like TDSOT versions more.
-Roger Waters The Wall Live In Berlin. Of course, the video allows you to enjoy the show in its full magnificence, but the audio CD is pretty enjoyable as well.
-Jaco Pastorius The Birthday Concert
-Bela Fleck And The Flecktones Live At The Quick (The DVD. Seeing the Wooten brothers in action is a must)
-Brian Setzer Orchestra Live In Japan
-Frank Zappa Roxy & Elsewhere, The Best Band You Never Heard In Your Life
-Rush In Rio in any format. Similar thoughts as for Waters'.
-AC/DC Stiff Upper Lip Live (DVD. Not released as audio CD, as far as I Know)
-Mr. Big Live In San Francisco (DVD also. The audio CD is OK, but nothing compared to the video)

I know there are lots more, but those are the ones I can recall right now.

Nine Inch Nails - And all that could have been. One of my favorite albums.

Portishead - Live at the Roseland. Sonically it has some issues I think, but the performances are awesome.

Does STP unplugged count? I know it never made it to CD or DVD for that matter but it was awesome.

Alice in Chains - Un-Plugged.

Been debating on the RATM live album, seems to get postive remarks on this thread.

I don't remember the title and maybe it was already mentioned, but Bruce Springstein put out a rather large live album in the 80's and though I don't care for that era of the Boss the album it self was well put together.

Elton John's 11-17-70

Power trio - Piano, Bass, Drums. Live at A&R Studios NYC in front of a small live audience. Dee positively KILLS it. Takes monster risks, delivers the goods.

Phil Ramone at the desk! One of the finest live recordings EVER (great mix), and the performances are just awesome.
