(hey I just learned the word last week)
derived from the Italian for stubborn

musical pharse repeated -- as in 'My Girl', 'Pretty Woman'

I'm especially looking for good warm up, flexibility and strengthening exercise
(not riffs to play in music store 'auditions')

ex I have some difficulty keeping all my fingers working smoothly for 'We Gotta Get out of this Place'. Chas Chandler's classic ostinato.

I think because it uses all 4 fingers.

Chic - Good Times: a great Bernard Edwards bass line that's a good workout for both hands. Clean fingering and rhytmic accuracy are the key to nailing this ostinato.

And for something a little earlier, I sometimes warm up with one of the earliest and most famous bass ostinatos ever, Pachelbel's Canon in D major, composed in the 17th century. For 4-string I transpose the low D up an octave.
