Not sure on the Hz, but a low, open D (on a detuned electric bass) is probably my favourite.

I'm hesitating between Pitch Perfect and Pitch Black
Pitch black is my new favorite Meshuggah song. Thanks for the tip! I really admire them, but a little of Jens' normal style goes a long way for me. Are there other tunes like this where he's not in full throat?
The Tomas Haake / Dick Lovgren clinic and the Morgan Agren / Fredrik Thordendal video never cease to amaze me. I'm sure you've seen them, but just in case.
D0 or G1. In my fifths tuning, I got a G1 open string, which is the way string basses were meant to be.
Sorry, I don't know, I'm not familiar with all of their songs. But yes, Tomas Haake is a beast. Some say bass drums look under their beds before they sleep, to make sure he's not there.
D on a B string for bass for some odd reason, an I really like G# on both the E and the D strings.
Last Saturday, my oldest daughter pitched her last two college games and closed out her career. She had a good rise, really good curve, decent drop curve and decent drop ball and an okay off-speed pitch (not quite a change-up), but had a wicked screw ball with great control and struck a ton out looking over the years. She froze many a batter on that screw ball. She probably topped out about 64-65MPH depending on which pitch she was throwing.
My youngest daughter turned down two college offers and chose to end her career at end of Senior year of high school. I think she saw how much of a huge commitment college ball was by watching her sister before her. She had very different style than my oldest with much less speed (probably topped out about 53 or so), but was very Greg Maddux like and crafty with it. She really moved a ball all over the place in every direction. A real spin pitcher and spot hitter with great control, but her best gift was her change-up. Most batters were already off balance with her being on the slower side and moving it up, down, in, or out or even breaking two planes at once (drop curve), but then she'd pull the string on that glorious change-up and it would spin in about 37-40 tops and they'd swing out of their cleats way before the ball got there. Always brought a huge smile to my face.
So I'm going with the change-up and screw balls as my favorite two pitches.

I have 5 gigs in the Burgh this summer. Each weekend the Pirates are on the road. I’ve never been to PNC Park to see a game but it’s on my bucket list. In fact, I’d been in Virginia from 1996 until this spring when I moved to Illinois this spring. I’ve been gigging in Pittsburgh for the last 10 years. Out of as many time have I been back for gigs and rehearsals, there was one weekend the Pirates were in town when I was there, and it rained out the weekend’s games.
Well, now living outside of St. Louis, I hear Busch stadium isn’t exactly a dump... Have a good one.
