Mike Watt. Far and away my favorite from that genre.

 

Paul Simonon. The Clash.

 

Mike Watt, The Stooges (current incarnation) and many other uber cool punk acts.

Don't remember his real name, but he went by "Jeff Magnum" while in the Dead Boys. A great 70s rock bassist playing hard and fast in a great punk band. Listen to Son of Sam, Ain't it Fun or Big City, all off of the second record "We Have Come For Your Children"

i think Jah Wobble qualifies, although Public Image.Limited was a unique band.

 

I know this is a cliche, but my favorite punk bassists are Paul Simonon, Mark Hoppus and Mike Dirnt
