Ska Punk is a sub genre of PunkSomeone at least said Karl Alvarez. For crying out loud, do y'all even know what punk is?
Tony Lombardo.
Dee Dee Ramone.
Steve Youth.
-You're welcome.
Ska is not punk. "Alternative" is not punk. And neither are half the bands y'all mention.
After learning a bunch of Ramones tunes and studying what Dee Dee brought to the stage. I think that dude epitomized punk bass playing. Non stop energy while on lots of heroin, all down strokes, totally in the pocket, for hours on end. Try it. Without the heroin of course. The heroin makes it harder.
Klaus, of course.
Also, the dude from Anti-Flag was a part of the reason I chose bass over guitar.
That's awesome. I was pretty into them way back in my skater punk days, pretty good tunes to get you pumped up for a day of skating the local spots. What was the name of you band?I played a few shows, and released a split seven inch with Anti-flag way back. The original bass player Andy, I think his name was, was one of the most amazing punk bass players I've ever seen live. Jumping around like an absolute spazz and never missing a note. Really cool guy and really fun to watch/listen to.
