I own a 1998 reissue MIJ and love it. It’s great. Also have my 73 Musicmaster that I began bass on nearly 50 years ago. I’m a short scale guy.I don’t own one, but a friend has an original Dan Armstrong clear lucite bass.
Very nice.

Thought about a Wilcock - www.wilcockLondon.comI'm looking to add a short scale bass to the arsenal and would like your input. For those of you who have tried different short scale basses what is your favorite?
Unfortunately there are none around to check out before purchase.
I'm currently looking/reading/listening to demos about...
Nordstand Acinonyx
Fender JMJ Mustang
Reverend Wattplower
Or something different?
Thanks
What bridge did you go with for the G2220? Thinking of replacing mine and changing the controls to a VVT setup as well (switch in mine has issues). Aside from that, I love it. Put GHS Precision Flats on mine and it feels niiiiice.View attachment 4311590

I love my American Performer. Put some flats on it and away you go! The Gretsch G2220 is an amazing value. I put some flats and a high mass bridge on that and it sounds and feels and plays great for $400 (bass, shipping, bridge and flats) highly recommend both. Returned the Allen Woody. Quality control. Just didn’t feel right. Same thing with the LP Jr short scale quality issues and didn’t like how it sounded or felt. Someone mentioned an Alembic. If you have 10 grand lol. But the Gretsch is a great value and the American Performer was $1,200. And I love them both…..
Do you want people to come around and play it for you too?http://www.wilcocklondon.com/
@Viv wilcock
Wow those are really intriguing.
So 16-1,700 pounds. How many Dollars is that?
How much is shipping from England?
Tax?
Import fees?
Thanks…..
