We just started (re)watching "Northern Exposure" on Amazon Prime. This is a great theme with some killer fretless bass!

I doubt anyone else will come up with this one...but it's memorable 50 years later.

One of the very best, played by one of the absolute greats!!

After providing lush backing for a wide variety of 40’s/50’s pop singers, most notably Frank Sinatra, and scores of movie sountracks, Nelson Riddle composed and performed this epic interpretation of cruising down the highway…

Zooming up the coast on the PCH from Santa Monica(where, ironically, US 66 ends)with this blasting is perfection.

Then, creating a dramatic mood where 66 starts(Chicago), Riddle came up with this as well…

Somewhat off topic....I did a radio talk show for 7 years when I lived in Texas. I found this to use as the theme music - it worked really well. Kilimanjaro Cookout by Simba O'Donel Levy. (There's a whole ethic mulligan stew in his name.) Cool piece of music, instrumental and perfect for a theme you can get in and out of any time.
