Here's a gorgeous cover of that tune.... so different in feel that I didn't make the connection the first time I heard it.....
The theme from Bob Newhart's last series in Vermont... Henry Mancini... great melody, perfect for the pastoral setting of the show...
This show went through so many versions of its theme, it's hard to keep up, BUT... when Henry Mancini is doing your music, who's going to complain? 
Probably the shortest "theme" ever, but soooo perfect for this wonderful show.... "Prison Break"...

The theme from M.A.S.H. ("Suicide Is Painless"). Probably already mentioned (I didn't read the whole thread)... but if it wasn't, it needed to be. Here's Bill Evans' playing it, as he often did. All the more poignant because his life is frequently described as the longest suicide in history.

I was a big fan of that show in after school syndication, great theme song. And yes, Yvonne De Carlo was a very attractive woman.
@bigdaddybass12 beat me to my #1. WKRP in Cincinnati, one of my favorite shows of all time. One of the 2 shows I found worthy of having all episodes on DVD.
This was the other series, NYPD Blue. Not a theme song you could sing along too but still pretty good.
