I downloaded a few random VST synths long ago that I didn't use much as I got a hardware synth not long after. But recently I realized there are hundreds of really cool VST effects for free!

So far I have downloaded like 100+ random cool ones, won't get around to trying them all out right away but I am pretty excited! I also got a few cool new VST instruments.

Here is one of the more recent sites I found with a lot of cool VST effects and synths: [Invalid or Expired Link Removed]

I downloaded almost all of them, over half at least, and they all seem pretty interesting. Even got a sampler though I have yet to mess with samples really.

Once I get my audio rig set up better I am excited to try playing guitar and bass through some! I even got some free VST guitar/bass amps with good reviews :roflmao:

PG8X - awesome VST of an old Roland analog/digitally controlled synth. It got 100 times better when I found a guy on youtube that had programmed new midi patches to work with for his original synth and also works with the VST I have. Yay!

Also, Arturia's CS80V. And Memorymoon's ME80.

And a compressor called CLA76.(1176 modeler)

EDIT: Here is the Roland JX-8P of the guy who uses those presets he made.

And here was me doing a quick sample of three of his patches on my PG8X VST:

I use virtual instruments for non bass stuff. East west quantum leap symphonic orchestra for orchestra stuff. I have slate drums also and like the deftones and cracky metal kits. I never really got into playing bass with virtual instruments and mainly use it to gear realistic sounds for instruments I can't play lol.

I will probably mostly end up doing that but I want to get a set up where I can play guitar/ bass through my VST effects in real time if possible. Would be really cool.

With the amps I am more just curious as to how they sound, mainly been getting filters/ delays and other effects + some cool synths and other instruments.

Just check out the popular free vst section on KVR. Invalid Link Removed

I use them time to time. There are too many awesome VST's on that list. Worth to try.

There are also very good bass amp sims for free. Check links below.
