So I've been using Pale Moon for about a week now, with just the usually-recommended addons such as Ghostery, Noscript, ABP. It is a little bit slower overall than Iron. I only considered switching because Iron seems to be having trouble with Youtube, which I'm using a lot lately. But Pale Moon is only slightly better with Youtube, not much. I may go back to Iron.

Any new or not as well known browsers (not IE or FF) for us non-IT types? On my Macbook Safari works fine, at my office on the PC it sucks. I use Chrome but sometimes I can't "drag and drop" for my work software scheduler program. Any tips would be appreciated. Thanks.

I use Chrome. Wife uses IE. She complains about it all the time, but she won't use Chrome. It's already on her cpu. Tell her it's better and to use it instead. I just think she'd rather bitch than try something else.

Can someone explain the circlejerk hate towards IE?

Well, gee....

It's slow
It nannys you to death, sometimes preventing you from accessing a website
It has security problems (hopefully you saw the recent warnings not to use it for a few weeks/months)
It tries to make you use the Bing search engine, and gawd help us, Bing sucks as hard as a black hole

That's a good start. I frankly don't mind MS programs, I use them all day, but the ID (Internet Destroyer) browser is the worst I've found.

I think that one worst thing about IE is how Microsoft was trying to warp the internet into something it's own, by adding features exclusive to IE and doing well established things differently. No good could come out of it, there was no benefit to the user; their plan was that, if they ship IE with Windows, novice users will use it in large numbers; forcing the websites to adapt to their BS in order to reach a wider audience.

Luckily, the developers persisted in maintaining standards and today's IE is follows standards far better. In a web-based company I used to work for, the first question to ask a customer whose website doesn't work is 'Are you using IE? If so, please install Firefox or Chrome'.

I got a speeding ticket and decided to take the online class because it was convenient. Firefox wouldn't load the videos so I switched to IE and everything was fine until I "saved" it and got really close to finishing chapter 5/8. Logged back in to see that I was stuck in chapter 3. Screw you Firefox and IE.

Chrome FTW. I recall a class or two relying on the IE way. Chrome worked better.

Anybody try torch? It's pretty wild. But I still keep coming back to iron...

Chrome, I am pretty sure one day Google is going to be able to buy and sell everyone on the planet. Plus they will have the ability to monitor our thoughts. Any anti-Google thinking will result in corporeal termination.

It is a pretty good browser though.
