Favourite live sound

Hi,

I suppose a similar thread already appeared here but I couldnt find it. So, what is your favourite "live bass sound?"

The reason I started to play bass was the Precision bass sound of Guy Pratt from Pink Floyd Pulse Tour.

I would like to inspire me with your favourite gigs as I am quite new in playing bass and I think I still miss many of the great live recordings.

In no particular order and what I can remember at this minute:
(not any particular high quality audio recording either tho, but at the same time I'm amazed that they're still sound good no matter the fact that the audio qualities had degraded so much. Then we can evaluate/compare how each particular bassists/artists used to sound on their 'high quality' studio records.... They're so good, man).

Guys I think of with 'impeccable' - to my ear tone. Conrad Lozano from Los Lobos, Darrel Jones are the guys that jump out at me. Fat, round, thick yet defined and articulate. Fairly sparse playing as the sound is so big. Pull 'em out of the mix and the band sounds like a toy... Tony Levin is a guy whose tone always grabs my ear. I have no idea who he is but the guy in Sade's live band from the 90's has the big tone thing working overtime but can also amp into a bright aggressive accent mode. He's another monster...

Do you want recommendations of live recordings, or musings on live shows we've seen? They are very different things in my case.

I have to admit, when I first saw Nathan East with Clapton in 1990, I wanted to sprint home and practice. Same for him with Fourplay in 1993.

Fourplay:

Can't find a good Clapton video with him, but the million dollar smile when they opened with Pretending was really memorable.
