Woo-hoo! All I need to read is a review here stating "Got my fEARful 15/6 kit from Speakerhardware. All the panels were flat, cut square and the kit went together perfectly" and I'm in for one, right off the bat. Tell me mirrored baffles are available and I might get two just for the "damn that's loud!" factor. :D

He's been doing BFM cut-kits for a while now, and I haven't seen anything negative over on BFM's forum.

It should be a simple matter to mirror-image the baffles...maybe as simple as turning it around when you build it. (Assuming Leland's plywood is half-way decent on the back side.)

The CNC-cut aspect of it is what gets me juiced. Perfect edges and handle holes...all that time saved vs. doing it yourself. Assuming the plywood itself is decent he wont' be able to cut the wood fast enough. Maybe getting ahead of myself (and Leland!) and I sure don't understand all the logistics involved. Maybe for an upcharge he could offer a superior cut of wood? Like instead of typical Baltic Birch, some stonger/lighter/smoother face type...that fancy Italian stuff some folks have used, maybe? Just thinking out loud. This is really exciting! I've not had access to my tools for the past 4.5 years; been working overseas. I've bought a guitar and a bass cab online that cost me a bundle to get shipped. If this cutkit were available a year ago I'd have bought the cut kit/drivers/xover and Duratex, had it shipped and had a fEARful already. /thinking out loud

I didn't get a full flatpack, but I did get two hard-to-cut pieces, a driver mount and the baffle for my Jack10 build from Leland. Top notch work and great customer service.

Been working with Leland on the nomenclature and typos. Still a way to go.

Assuming it gets that far, mirror image baffles (with best surface outward) would be a simple pull-down option at time of ordering. Far more thought provoking has been the subject of waveguides. I'm scouring the planet for a 90° x 90° besides the incredible JBL part whose quality I actually respect. But chances are we'll have to go with the 18 Sound 90 x 60 for the 15/6 and the 80 x 50 Dayton / Parts Express H07E for the 12/6 and 12/6cube.

I'll be evaluating an Eminence APT200 but from the datapoints I've gotten it doesn't look hopeful.

I just want to see cutkits/flatpacks easily available, and a builder or three who are set up with jigs and follow plans and guidelines.

If people want fancy wood on top of a lightweight and a baltic birch (the real thing - not plain old birch), they'd better start finding veneer on eBay or where-ever, and practice applying it ; }

I emailed Leland and will be ordering one of the 15/6 6nd410 crossover PCBs prebuilt the moment they are available, to retrofit my existing cab from LDS.

I'll post some pics to my build thread, as I plan to add some bracing to the top and double check the rest of the bracing in my cab, as my shuttle has been drifting a bit on top of the cab =)

If he gets the cutkits ready, I have two 3015LFs ready for fEarful subs. Can't wait :)

For one-offs JBL may or may not get out a PT waveguide quickly. But they are manufactured on a as-needed basis as replacements for their enclosures. Certainly nothing one can depend on. That's why Duke and I and others were so pleased to see the big 90 x 50 waveguide we use cloned and available from Parts Express.

OK – I’m reading the last few postings about Leland and Speaker Hardware.com and his prewired crossovers for the fEARfuls – nice. I’ve been thinking about getting started on a pair of fEARful cabs, but there’s so much info that it’s overwhelming. :help:

I have no problem with the box at all – got that part covered.:)

All I need is a bill of materials for the 15/6/1 and 12/6/1 – like the set that Tom Bowlus built. I’m not sure I even want the tweeter, but I figure it’s better to put it in there and have the ability to turn it all the way down if desired. I know I need:

3012LF
3015LF
18Sound mid driver – which one? 6ND410 or 6NM410?
What tweeter?
Crossover – I’ll get that from Leland prewired
Wiring diagram – probably can get that from Leland as well

Thoughts?
Ideas?
