You will want to add a switch to the L pad in the 15/6 so that you can bypass it when using both woofers. In the WIKI stuff, a similar, switched L pad is shown in the diagram for the 12/6 with 18 Sound mid.

Agreed. I have installed one on my 15/6 as well. I actually usually leave the padding on even with two cabs, but if I were in a different band with a different sound I'd probably use it more.

But I know Greenboy spec'ed a rocker switch that would be low profile. I left everything in place and pulled my jackplate and drilled and installed the switch then did some spot soldering in the cab at the L-pad to get it up and running.

It was interesting to actually hear the difference from my 3.5db pad to unpadded. You can hear the change, but it certainly ain't that big a difference.

New 12/6cube revision up. Redrew the 12/6cube without styrofoam in the woofer space. Took the depth down to 14.25" which leaves less space for deeper shelf retuning but also shaves some weight. It cost 21.5 cubic inches / .35 liters compared to 12/6 non-cube, where I was within 3 cubic inches before. So close ... I doubt anybody could hear the diff even with a low-tuned bass.

Try as I might I COULD NOT bring myself to make it 14" deep. I tried a number of tricks like shaving space off the internal midrange chamber and bracing, and I can get a very close phase match with other fEARfuls if I did that. But I just can't throw away that bit of extra potential that's there sonically. Console yourselves though with this: if you took off the 1.25" of "lip" and grill standoff surrounding the baffle you'd have a 13"-deep cab! All without losing the tonal authority!

One handle is all you really need on these cabs. Plan indicates this. I could have put it on the "top" but since the side could be the top anyway, I left it there, where one of those fold-out legs can do its tilt-back magic and also work like a handle. I tried that angle last night with my 12/6cube on the floor and it is just right.

Verrry interresting... a nicer profile for my acoustic gigs ...

Oh man, you've been bit. I was talking to Greenboy earlier today, and I was saying that once I got my 15/sub together with my 15/6, I don't boost my lows at all. I run lows flat and attenuate my highs and high-mid. If I get really loud (and I do!), I actually can roll off lows and still be completely heavyweight. Being a Dingwall guy, you know that these cabs are about it for reproducing what Sheldon's basses provide.

BMoreF is correct. The filter lets the 'lows pass' through it and holds the highs out. Therefore it's a 'low pass filter'. On the CBG 15/6 you should think of the circuit as being a low pass that sends the lows to the 15" and the high pass portion sends the stuff above to the 6" speaker. The magic is how each portion filters and at the crossover point how the signal rolls off. And how those two meet (they both 'slope') and 'cross over'.

I don't plan on springing for duratex but with black carpet and black speakers, black hardware I wanted to do something to make it a bit unique.. so make the front blue?

Yes.. I like. If anyone wants the sketchup file too just msg me. Making that grill was a bitch to do and its kind of broken in the back but for aesthetic purposes it will do. Didn't bother trying to make any handles or corners either.

I was thinking of doing this - to match my Walter Woods Ultra! That would be hot for sure! Maybe jbaird can do a sketchup on this? I tried that sketchup program and had trouble with it.
