fEARless F212: New cab design from greenboy!

That is a really nice spec and form factor, and the max volume and sensitivity should be great with the typical 400-600 watt micro for those looking for a 'one trip schlep that hammers'. I love the 212 spec, given the great 12" drivers that are available.

Options are pretty open on these cabs. For me I would debate the tilt back casters as a sub 60 pound cab might not need them for my uses.

I really dont need another cab as my stable is pretty well rounded. But this has me interested. But then again I also GAS for a 15sub to go under my '66... :bassist:

Yeah, the only thing missing from Greenboy's lineup is the 1515sub. :D

What does reputable have to do with it?
FEARful, designed for maximum lowfrequency extension in a manageable size/shape using simple construction methods and less parts.
Fearless, uses a different mid driver and a much more complex crossover. The single woofer models have a kickback design useful for small stages.
Both are designed around the Eminence Kappalite LF woofer series, and have a mid driver for great dispersion.
FEARful are available DIY, fEARless are only available from Greenboy's Authorized builders found below.

I dont know what you mean by that. Both the fEARful and fEARless lines were designed by greenboy. The plans for the fEARful line are free, and the fEARless are only available through greenie's builders.

Tonally the fEARful cabs go lower, way low like low F# below low B on a 5 string low. The fEARless cabs are a bit more traditionally tuned. With spank out a low B or A no problem. The fEARful cabs are a little more present in the mids (which I prefer) and the fEARless cabs are a little smoother. The fEARless cabs are slightly smaller and lighter, and the single woofer designs have a kick back feature. All the fEARless cabs have a switch that changes the mid voicing from "greenboy" voicing to "upright" voicing.

Something that often gets overlooked in these discussions is that Greenie designed the fEARfuls to be easy to build by someone with limited woodworking experience, skills and tools. The same is true of the CBG crossovers. (In the case of the 12/6, just 2 coils and 2 caps.)

My definition of "reputable" should be pretty clear cut - "having a good reputation". So let me rephrase: Does the fEARful line have a better reputation than the fEARless line? When I say reputation, I'm just asking those who have played through both if there were any noticeable differences. Obviously the overall sound will be different as the two sub-lines offer different configurations/sizes. But seeing how the AB's will build both lines for you, perhaps people have noticed that their are qualitative differences in the two lines of speakers. If it is basically objectively accepted that both lines of cabs are amazing and any differences between the two can be only attributed to the workmanshp of the AB, than it is a moot point. Just trying to learn a little bit more, as I have talked to two AB's, and they recommended different cabs for my needs.

Never play outside without PA support often?

Got a dodgy back - and a tilt and roll design won't solve the problem so you must restrict yourself to a sub 50 lbs. cab?

Enamored of having a floor wedge format for tight stages?

Play a 4 string and never detune?

I would say the quality of both lines is equal. They have different goals though. One goes lower, and is more present in the mids. One is lighter/smaller, and smoother through the mids. One line has plans for free, one is only available through a builder. Tonally if you buy a fEARful from one AB, it should sound exactly like one built by another AB or anyone else who built it to spec. Same goes true for the fEARless line.
