FEDEX Damaged my bass! Arrggh!! Pics to see

Was it just rapped and put in the box? I take it the bass was not shipped in a case? Because that box look like it's to big for that bass.

This is absolutely correct - FedEx is not to blame here. Shame on the retailer for packaging the bass like they did - it was doomed the minute it left the store. It’s clear the box was too short to begin with, and I bet the internal packing was minimal as well.

I’m glad they’re making it right for you. I hope they pack the replacement FAR better than the original.

At the end of the day, it's hard to blame single companies, (though I agree your bass should have been packaged much better than it appears, make sure you give them hell about the packaging as well!!) really comes down to the dude actually doing the job. Does he care about his job? Probably not. I've have had terrible experiences with all three major postal companies and I've also had wonderful. Nonetheless, I won't order stuff online anymore, unless it's a small, METAL pedal, cables, picks or something clunky like that, simply because the possibilities of damage are always there. That and one instrument may sound a hundred times better than one of the same model, it's always best to try them out in person before purchase!
Best of luck with your situation OP, glad to hear they're sending another out so quick for you. Let us know how the bass is when you finally get it too! I see there's some Rumble heads in your signature, I use them with a BTB so it'll be interesting to here how the SR sounds! :bassist:

Agreed. It really comes down to the people who handled your package and it’s a few out of thousands of company employees. That’s even the case for costumer service

I guess you could make a case for company policies but for the most part fedex and ups are the same. No point in blaming one company when it can for sure happen to you with the other

I bet it was this guy!

In all seriousness, I don't think I have received a package yet that FedEx delivered that did not at the very least have damage to the box and surprised more of my packages don't get ripped because they always just leave them on my doorstep out in the open. I'd file a complaint with FedEx but also let the place you bought the bass from know as well.

FeDex is the devil! Did you know that FedeX spelled backwards is XedeF? (Google it!) I absolutely make a point of never buying anything from anyone if they can't ship it to me USPS. And don't even get me started on "UPS"!! Did you know UPS spelled backwards is SPU??? A pox on couriers!

USPS can get A bad rap, sure they can be 7 days start to finish for ground west coast to east, I’ve had it be 8. Sure the tracking sucks. They however seem to be more gentle in my experience. I shipped A Gibson led Paul with no case or bag to A buyer 2 weeks ago. Sure I bubble wrapped and peanut filled the box with extreme care and $35 worth of packing supplies but still it’s A Gibson Les Paul, A fragile creature to ship. USPS got it there whole from LA to Alabama.

Now I have a custom shop fender due tomorrow and am sweating it after seeing these photos. Defiantly A time of year to not order online if you don’t have to
