Im not usually a fan of J type instruments, but this bass sounds great. Really full and rich tonally.

TSand: The 5L is a great bass, congrats.
Do yourself a favor and try some DA Chromes on there.

I ended up with two 5L's so I could have rounds on one and flats on the other. If I hadda choose, this is one of few basses I'd go for flats first on.

the DFBB is an extremely close copy. nut/neck/weight...etc, and comes VERY close to my JacksonBird for tonality. (EMG's vs passive )

Here's a couple snaps to get this back on a Reverend track:

Looks aside, these are pretty unique basses.
The two J pickups are setup with vol and tone controls. The miniswitch selects neck only, or, both parallel, and both series...making one big-a**humbucker out of them.

Semihollow contruction; a 6" wide mahogany block with steel sustain bar in the middle; hollow sides. Most are formica top and back, tho some are aluminum.

The string spacing is a tad narrow but very comfortable. The necks are a thing of beauty: not too wide, not too deep, and the edges and fret ends are nicely rolled to make them feel like they've been played in for about 20 years...

NICE. I have a fretted MIM J in that same Midnight Blue...has a really powerful low end....I added a black pearloid PG and covers:

You don't see a lot of the Midnight Blue instruments.

reverend stopped making basses a few years ago...

they have become highly collectible and immensely popular...

I am waiting for the day when the will be reissued (I'm predicting future limited runs, with special distinguishing features to set them apart from the old classics).
