I've noticed today that "feeling it" is kinda subjective, some days we play and the atmosphere is good, the whole band is moving and motivation is high. These days are great but I guess every practise can't be like this.
Today for example we plodded through the songs with little feeling, I'm tired from work and I'm also sober. I've noticed the amount i'm "feeling it" seems directly in proportion to how wasted I am, it's like there's a certain stage of intoxication that's just right, any less and I struggle to get in the zone, any more and I'm too trashed to play.
I closed my eyes mid practise today and just listened, we still sounded good, tight and everything was working perfectly together, however the feeling I speak of wasn't their.
It's kinda weird when I think about it, I'm not even sure what the "feeling" is. I should imagine most of you know what I mean tho
