Feels like a Spector but sounds like a Jazz

Well...

One of the issues with the tone pump for me was that it didn't integrate that well with my effects.

Too hot of a signal? just turn down the trim pot on the tone pump. i had the same issue with autowahs and distortions, they seemed to trigger with the slightest touch, but a quick turn on the trim pot fixed that beautifully.

Yep. It was the same on my old Modulus Q5's, had to taper the output on them to play nice w/ my FX spread.
