FEILDY!!!!

MAJOR METAL said:
A question regarding the bassist know as "Feildy", with all the clanky in his style do you think he is damaging his amplification?.
no it's just he has the mid range completley taken out and has the tone controls set a certain way to get his sound it's really no different than when you do slap and things like that

I love Fieldy, in my opion hes one of the best. Its funny though to see ppl rat own him for his tone and his technique, sone people dont like orginal sounding bassists. KoRn is awsome and Feildy is very talented, but his solo album was not good. I thought it be crazy bass solos instead its rap. But that aside Fieldy is one the best

Unique sound/technique?? Why yes...most certainly.

Copied by many? Not hardly.

Therefore I really can't see him as setting that much of a benchmark for aspiring players. I do give him props for doing something different..but that's about it.

Kevin, I think that as long as he's got some compression going with his rig the pops and peaks from the slapping and all shouldn't be much of a problem.
