Looks to me like when I put the badges and chrome on a paint job that wasn't quite ready to have them installed. I've painted quite a few cars and trucks and earth moving stuff, and lack of patience on my part always caused me grief that looked like this.

It's the manufacturer's problem. No way would I accept that as anyone else's fault.

But you already had it buffed out - too bad. They're gonna tell you to pound sand and I wouldn't blame them now.

Sorry I didn't give much details. What was pelling was glued back and then buffed to even out with the lacquer. Unfortunately, some very small parts were missing and that's why you can still see some cracks. At least the pelling bits are fixed.

that's look pretty good to me in this picture, shame that this is a new instrument. glad you have it resolved though.

If I paid for a brand new Ric there's no way that wouldn't have been sent back to be replaced.

Looks much better, but if you're still playing that bass in 5-10 years you'll notice that repair every time you look at it.
