Fender 2018 MIM Player Series

Increased body radii ... Modern C shape neck as well...basically everything about this bass has been upgraded from the Standard series..
Disagree. Any "changes" seem imperceptible and remember,
Change doesn't =better.
The pickups are the only meaningful change. I own a 2017 MIM STD P Bass and compared it to the player series. Same bass for all intensive purposes.

Sorry.disagree.. the new body shape is more comfortable as well as the modern C neck. So, while I agree change doesn't always equal better, in this cause it does.
I've owned one since they've been released and it's definitely much much better than the standard series.

I’m with you on this. P Bass necks never felt right to me until the Player Series. Now I actually like my P feel more than the J. It’s like a Goldilocks neck somewhere between the typical P and J.

The leftie Player Jazz is getting the orange option.

That's awesome, ty Olly! I've been saving for a white Player P but now idk. I could trade in the Squier VM Jazz on it too. I should get a precision first though as I don't and never have had one and I do have the VM Jazz for now. However, I do want to get the Jazz to be able to support Fender in the hope of more nicer choices being made available. Decisions, decisions...

Is that going to be with a maple or PF board? Modern lefty Fenders ime only have one fretboard available per colour. Capri orange with a PF board and a nice tort guard would be killer. Seriously kool colour for the left, yay lol. Thx to Fender as well.:)

Now if they would rejig the colours for the maple boarded player Precisions. Black and tidepool just don't do it for me. I tried to like tidepool, I really really did but nope. Black is a non-starter on a new instrument for me unless it's something really special like my SR4H.

Anyway, your post made my day. So nice to get a colour/board combination that I really like instead of liking the colour but not the board that it's paired with or the board but not the colours it's paired with. Thx again!:D

I tried a fretless Fender Player series Jazz bass today at a music store. Really liked it! I compared it with a Jaco Tribute Fender jazz bass. The sound was not far off. The player even had more output. What do think of the fretless player series compared to the normal made in Mexico Fender jazz fretless? is there much difference? and compared to a usa standard fretless? Is it more noisy or not? Curious what you have to say...

I just got a new maple Player P neck today from Stratosphere (big score, lefty maple of either style is hard to come by). Put it on my Player body and threw some old Labella flats on there and I can’t believe how comfortable it feels. When I looked at it, I thought it might be a little too flat front to back, but man it just plays great! I guess my Player Jazz donor can have its neck back now.
