Fender 60th Anniversary Precision Bass

I got to try one of these out about a month ago and, to say the least, I was highly disappointed! The neck felt very chunky compared to the Standard P, the tone somehow sounded thinner, and it weighed as much as a boat anchor. I also swear that the string spacing was off somehow. It didn't feel like a normal P.

Cool looking bass, but it was lacking in every other department.

g bisson .... that was a long wait ... but you've got it coming now.

Jmatt ... was it the burst you tried ?

My blonde weighed in at 8.5 lbs on a digital scale .... and of the all the Pbasses I've had it's right up there with best feeling.

My neck is also partly birdseye maple ... which was a pleasant surprise

This is so far the opposite of my experience that I have to wonder if you aren't mistaking a 60th anniv. with something else.

I just read this and, after a little quick arithmetic, discovered that today is exactly the 17th day since I ordered mine. Hope that means that mine will be shipped very soon.

I have a DB but no eub and one band is doing bluegrass stuff that would need a db ... however ... I can't afford another instrument and I really dont look forward to putting the DB in my honda civic a couple times a week ... during the winter. guuuuh

decisions decisions .... feelers on this thread ... anyone interested in the 60th blond ?

My process for transporting my upright in my Toyota Camry: Drape bass in its big, soft case; wrestle it downstairs; back the Camry out of the garage; recline the front passenger seat; simultaneously push and turn the bass into the car without crushing the headstock; then hold my breath and close the door.
