Fender 60th Anniversary Precision Bass

I have a DB but no eub and one band is doing bluegrass stuff that would need a db ... however ... I can't afford another instrument and I really dont look forward to putting the DB in my honda civic a couple times a week ... during the winter. guuuuh

Have you run the idea of using an EUB past the people in your bluegrass band...??

No ... but that's a good idea if'n' I din't know them as well as I do ... hardcore BG folks might not take too kindly to it .... these are friends and family ... I dont think they'd skin me.

I'm seeing a lot of EUB in bluegrass these days. Especially in the nationally traveling acts. Just so much easier to transport.... My doghouse has a pickup, so I can electrify when needed. Still a pain to transport (though not like I'm touring far and wide).

Well, as someone who ordered one from Hello Music for exactly that price (okay, plus $9.00 shipping), that sounds very reasonable. Good idea to "let it sit on here for a bit" before going to classifieds: Anyone who's been following this thread, but who hasn't pulled the trigger yet, should see that this is a great deal on a brand-new bass. If I hadn't already ordered one, I'd be pm'ing you right now about buying yours.

Meanwhile, Day 19 has come and gone for me with no shipping confirmation yet. (I'll bet you ship faster, no?)

Saying it again: This is the P Bass I've always wanted. Impressed me even more so than the one I demo'ed in store. After a two hour solo jamout comparing it to my other basses. This P is more resonant than most of my stable. Pushed my amp into disortortion more so than my other MIM ash body P.

This will be my second P to my stable. I bought this so one could stay loaded with flatwounds and one with rounds. Its gonna be real hard chosing who gets the flats.

I'd either go 51 reissue, or, standard P.

Amen, Chef. I feel the exact same way. The bass looks like the new Toyota FJ Cruiser. I'd rather have an FJ-40... So, I guess my vote is the A-Standard.

I read that same comment and thought the same thought for a bit ... then changed my mind ... why you ask ?

I love the transparent finish, its a fantastic bridge, more mass in the headstock then the tele head, I prefer simply access to the controls like the 51 style ... small chrome strip, don't have to remove 13 fargin screws to get to the wiring, the side jack is outta the way and not attached to a piece of plastic, the P bass pup rocks the single coil, the neck is perfect, and the additional a-string retairner is a wonderful improvement.

there ya go ... its the freaking best .... damn .... I'm killing myself.

Without a doubt, the 60th anni P is an outstanding example of a quality Precision bass.
Kudos to Fender for taking the time to get this one right.
