Too good to be true at this price? If not, I might snatch it up, even though I have no business doing so.

Looks like a good price at this years prices (2009)... last year a different story.
You suspect he counterfeited the stickers, case candy, and neck plate?
I don't... I'm on my way over to his place!
P.S. It's a '62 RI, not a '62.![]()
I think the 62RI neck is one of the most comfortable necks ever put on a bass. It's fairly wide for a four string, but really thin from front to back. I suppose for young children and smaller ladies it MIGHT be a bit much to handle...![]()
Disagree completely.
This bass new is now $2,000-ish street price everywhere. This bass was nowhere near $1,000 last year. $1699 maybe.
IMO this is a great deal considering a new 2009 American Standard P is $1299.
The neck may be too much for some people though...
Yes, that's my bass. It is also for sale in GFS.
The $1000 price tag is a cash only, local pickup price. It won't go lower.
And yes, it's a killer deal.
I'm basically breaking even on this. I can take it back to GC for a full refund anytime in the next ten days, so I won't take a loss. I just thought I'd try to pass on a good deal to a fellow TBer.
Why are you selling this lovely?
... or a fellow CLer![]()
