Why not? The neck looks properly quarter-sawn and the fret job done properly.
Im not fond of that look....but I feel the same way about any of these posts regarding very expensive bass's. If I were in a financial position where I had plenty of money to spare, id probably have a few high end bass's just because, but I'm not, so I don't. For me the bass is a tool, not a collectors item or jewelry, i use what works for the gig and gets me the tones i hear in my head. I find I can accomplish this with standard production bass's.
Fifty bucks? No, no, no. This is a Fender Custom shop master built by some guy. The thinnest water-resistant pbass in the world. Singularly unique, sculptured in design, hand-crafted in California, and water resistant to three atmospheres. This is the sports bass of the '80s. Eight thousand, three hundred twenty dollars retail! It plays roots and fifths simultaneously in Monte Carlo, Beverly Hills, London, Paris, Rome, and Gstaad.
This explains it. A promotional bass for a store opening. I'm sure it's a wonderful bass and great instrument to play, but it's a hard sell at that price and with those graphics.

To each their own I guess. If you gave it to me for free but with the condition I could never sell it, I'd pass. Paying $8k, that's downright funny.

Actually, the hefty price tag might be a good idea. Probably wouldn't sell as an MIM FSR, but since it's so special and so outrageously priced, this thing should have no problem finding a home.
