I once had a big pink flamingo airbrushed on a white bass as part of a radio station promo, but that’s a bit much.

Fender 8K+ Custom Shop Precision: Yea or Nay

I am not reading 9 pages of responses but I can't imagine anyone thinking that looks good (or at least worth $8k+)
I suppose if you like to look at guitars and you live in Santa Cruz it might be a nice wall hanger.
But just like hanging a giant fork and spoon or a sign that says “eat” in your kitchen, the obvious place for forks, spoons, and eating, wouldn’t the Santa Cruz view be enough to look at?
The knobs and the edge of the pickguard on the lighthouse kind of look like a frownie face. Now try to unsee that.

I've actually BEEN to Santa Cruz...very nice little town in a beautiful part of the state. But that's one ugly bass.

I see a lot of Custom Shop vintage builds that cost as much as the real vintage bass. 2 years ago I paid 7K for my real 1954 P-Bass.
I love that yellow / blue & Red pinstripe color..on the Chevy Van.. Would totally play that bass
That's a 'nay' for me. I've bever been to Santa Cruz. Which is a shame, because I had an extra $8k+ burning a hole in my pocket and I wanted to spend it on a tacky custom shop bass.
