Yeah, with shipping it'd probably come to $400. Meanwhile, this complete one would be $500, plus about $20-25 for shipping.

Then there's always Craigslist. In fact, I use a search engine called SearchTempest to scour large swaths of CL in one or two passes. You just need to be wary of bad spelling in ads, just like the "Areodyne" listed through Guitar Center. :bookworm: :facepalm:

Personally, I think this seller is a high if he thinks he can sell a used 'Dyne for that much with those stickers plastered all over it…upgraded Omega bridge be damned. :rollno: But, that could be used as leverage to bring the price down, especially considering the finish's tendency to chip. Removing them could damage it, which could be brought up to get a reduction.

And practically in my backyard! Nice!

Closeup of the neck reveals a shifty looking nut. May not be a problem that can't be fixed, but it's almost a two hour drive to find out.

GC can ship that bass for free to the GC in Asheville. An hour south of me.

This sounds like a good plan.

Free shipping?! Even when I have something shipped from store-to-store, I always get charged about $20. It ain't that much, but twenty bucks is still twenty bucks. What's your secret?

About that specific Guitar Center listing…if you sort their used items by "Newest", it's way, waaaaay down at the end of the list. I've been able to use that as a little more leverage in the past, something to the tune of, "I see you've had that bass for quite some time. I'll take it off your hands for <insert offer here>. What do you think? Can we make a deal?". It's not a sure-fire thing, but I've made it work for me a couple of times. Of course, I always ask for a hands-on inspection over the phone. I'd definitely want to know why it's listed as "FAIR" condition.

It's one of the best features of the Aerodyne line, IMO: The bridge is closer to the end of the body than on my P bass, making the "reach" to the first fret shorter.

Have you measured it, though? 32" medium scales do exist.

Ill need to measure it, didn't know they made medium scale aerodyne basses. It looks identical to my other basses in length though, only really referring to feel.
