Fender Aerodyne Club!

A few weeks ago I bought a black MiJ from a friend, who bought a new Precision Deluxe MiM. It needed a lot of care and love so I took it apart, cleaned it, gave it a setup, changed the pups for cream DiMarzios, Richter passive electronics, dome knobs from allparts and put Bassculture Black Nylon Strings on it. Here we have a motown killer bass... :) Here are some pictures. It plays wonderful, is featherlight and sounds beautiful.

Great idea about the cream pickups, they look awesome!

I like them both, just not a fan of red, unless it's Ferrari Also, I guess the input jack is on the edge? Mine has the recessed angled front jack. Thanx for the welcome, lots of great stuff on here! Here's my quiver... 12D7ED6E-82DA-4DA6-984D-036E9CE5340E.jpeg

Yep, jack on the lower edge.

Nice family photo! Between those axes and the artwork, I'm sensing a theme...

Woah. Have you seen this that just showed up on Reverb? If we weren't downsizing hard, I'd already own it just for the looks!

Fender Aerodyne Precision Bass Transparent Crimson Red - Figured Maple

And they just dropped the price.

How do I justify having more than one of a certain model?! Color alone won't make a solid case. I already have a jazz bass (which is CAR, anyway), a P/J, and a EBMM so I can't make the "unique pickup" argument. I have basses with flats and rounds... We're planning some international travel soon, so I really need to be leaning away from rosewood just to reduce the hassle factor.

But man.

I'm sad to see you suffering my brother, so I'll do my best to help. You most definately need a red Aerodyne. And they reduced the price you say. I can't see how you have any other choice but to buy it, it would be dumb not too. Tell the wife all these arguments, and if she still argues about it, get in touch and I'll give her a call lol

Help me Fender Areodyne Club.
I'm contemplating a new MIJ import to US Aerodyne from zZounds. I've never owned a Jazz Bass and have a lot of P Basses and figured an Areodyne would get me both worlds. zZounds rarely list weights on there website. Sweetwater shows 1 right now that weighs 8 lb 13 oz. I can handle that no problem but, I'd be upset if one showed up weighing much over 9 lbs.
Can anyone please tell me what theirs weigh so I can rest assured ???
Thanks
Eddie
It could possibly be a couple oz's less, as My scale only reads 1/4, 1/2, and 3/4's. If it were anything over 1/2, it would say 3/4.
Hope this helps.
Cheers!!!
Marc
