I love it... But it desperatly needs a good setup. The other one in the pics sounds even better then this one. But it looks better with the cherryburst and with a good setup I think this can be my best bass ever!

Plus if there's anyone out there that wants to trade stock bridge for my badass V PM me. I like the stock better. I think the badass bridges make it sound too electronic for my taste. I still like some of that old fasion P bass sound.

I think that cherryburst P5 is the best-looking bass Fender's ever made. If it plays/sounds anywhere near as good as it looks, you can stop looking now!

Real nice, also my favorite Fender bass of all time. Mine's a 4 string, Candy Tangerine. Though the Cherry burst is the better finish, I like the 5 inline better than the 4+1.

The one on the left with inline tuners is a 2000 model. I think they changed to 4+1 in 02. The cherryburst is 06.

I agree. I just put the inline up for sale here and I'm already kicking myself. It weighs 2 pounds less then the cherryburst and it sounds incredible! But I need to sell one since I don't need two and I can't let that cherryburst finish out of my sight.

I own the exact same bass myself. Only difference is that it has the original bridge and "mint" pickguard. It is the LAST bass I'll ever buy [that my wife knows about]. You can't go wrong with these basses and it is a travesty that Fender quit producing them and introduced the "standard" series. "Standard" should really be called "economy", or actually "we figured out we couldn't sell enough of them with the features a real bass player wants so we'll strip it down to bare-bones and knock $200 off the price so the college kids will buy it". But I digress....

Makes think of going back to a B-less bass.

Yes I finally got it setup the way I want it (with low action) and I love it even more! I really like that badass bridge now that I set it up right. The maple fretboard is incredible, very smooth and fast. This bass doesn't have a mark on it completely mint. A real collecters bass. It's funny what you can find on craigslist at a great price and great shape. I feel very lucky to get this bass.
