Did any one get their Bass yet? The description for the p and the j seem to be the same when I played with it "c shape neck with thick profile"

It's about a 90 day turnaround. I don't know how long Fender has offered ADE, I just know it's new to lefties, so I know mine (and Addison's above) are still a ways off.

Hopefully there will be more options and that this is something new that Fender is sort of feeling out to gauge interest. Seems like that may be the case, but I dunno.

I did not see any inlay option , hardware was the same: vintage or high mass, did not see where you can select the radius but I may look again.

I hope Fender add more colors options, ebony fretboard, figured tops, RW necks. Making the experience more a like a real custom order and no just an order mixing parts of current production.

I'll say it again: it's not the custom shop. I also imagine, if they are smart, and as a digital marketer myself, they should be monitoring this and other social media outlets to see what we are all saying about it.

Pedroims, for inlays some necks have dot markers and some have blocks.

All if those options are available already through the custom shop. There are tons more options available through the custom shop... and even more available if you decide to pay for a Master Built instrument. If you want figured woods and ebony fingerboards, that would be the way to go.

The way I see it, the American Design Experience is for people that already enjoy most of the current stock options available, but want to be able to piece together a creation of their own that is unlike anything else that's currently in production.

It's a step up from what you get from Musicians Friend, but won't cost you all the money of a true custom shop order.

I personally think it's a fantastic idea and really hope it is successful so more options will be available in the future.

Not at all. This appealed to me until I checked it out.

"Your custom" is what they want you to build.

All I want is a j bass with no pick guard. Not even an option.

Honestly, Fender's online custom options are a joke. Subtract $800 and I might consider it.

I sent in a quote request to the custom shop via Sweetwater for a souped up jazz fretless and was quoted $8500. Yikes!

No joke. People actually think comparing Fender to Carvin or G&L is fair.

I think this is a major step in the right direction.

They do need to be more specific with the specs though. Nut width, fret size, radius, neck finish, etc

Just spent an hour in Sam Ash in NYC comparing necks as I build my American design. So glad I did. Gotta go modern design and a modern jazz neck on a p bass body. Order commencing soon.

This - plus because it's a FENDER, it will have resale value.

If the price were more reasonable, I might be interested. But it isn't, so I'm not.

That's my biggest beef with this. If I want blocks, I have to get a Jazz neck. -_- My hands HATE jazz necks.

Is it too much to ask for a maple P neck with black blocks?
