Hi Everyone, I'm looking at a Fender Elite Bass for Fathers Day. What is the color you like most and why. What do you think about changing pickguards to alter the color variables? Thanks everyone for your input.

I chose "no colour" for mine. Natural Ash.

I originally set out to buy straight black but just couldn't shake the natural ash every time I looked.

As for pickguard changes, it will be your bass and only you that you have to please. Customise however makes you happiest.

I really like the natural finish, I didn't realize it had a gloss to it. I like the figuring on the neck, Beautiful!

Olympic White.
Saw a white P bass with a pearl blue pickguard last year and thought it looked great.
Then I saw one with a red pearl pickguard, not just the typical red one, but one they called cranberry, a nice dark red, and I thought it looked even better.
I've seen them with gold pearl, too, and really liked that and I'm usually not big on gold.
The thing is, with white, you can have three or four different pickguards and change them every month or two…as long as we're not talking black, white or tort pickguards!

For their highest price bass below custom shop, I don't like any of the colors. If I was forced to pick one I'd pick Tobacco Burst and slap a black pickguard on it.

The grain on the fretboard is very nice.

Ocean turquoise and then slap on a 3 ply black/white/black pickguard.

Even though I'm not a tort fan, that looks really nice. I was thinking this morning that, if I had gone the black route, I may have tried a tort guard at some point.

I'm not a fan of any of the colors offered.

I change pickguards. Nothing wrong with it.
