Fender American Original

I am more happy to see FMIC release a Multiscale 33" ~ 36 " 5 string Fender Jazz bass and P bass which still retain classic J and P vibe.
I am not prefer the tone of Dingwall and Ibby SRFF .

A bit disappointing to see this come out just when I am thinking of getting a used AVRI 58...not that I want one of these, but it’s just sneaky...it better be good. The Ame Pros are getting rave reviews, and yep they’re a chunk less cash (poly vs nitro I bet).

The American Pro is nice for a new modern bass with some vintage queues that will never wear because of poly but the AVRI has so much more vibe. I returned an American pro for an AVRI and it was the best thing I ever did. These new ones are cool especially if they feel the same as the current AVRI. I just wish for more variation. There's currently like eight different but almost the same sunburst P basses in their lineup.

Mr. Vee, I found a 2016 AVRI sunburst and played it with the Ame Pro: liked the Pro but yeah that AVRI 58 was butter, almost brand new except a chip (where the previous removed the neck: Fender’s pocket tight), and sounded very good with the Trickfish Bullhead 1K amp I use....also played the CS 69 Closet Classic but for 3,500 USED I figure I’m better off with The AVRI 58.

The Mexican made models will become the “North American Classic” then ;).

or perhaps they will brand them "Memories of NAFTA"...

Just as a contrast to how boring these basses are, checking out these strats they also just released with matching headstocls. American special for only 1000 bucks:

Invalid Link Removed - Seafoam Pearl

Invalid Link Removed - Aztek Gold

Also, am I seeing the head-stock logo as just a relief type situation and not actually any paint or decal? That's SO COOL.

They cost less than American Standards because they use MIM pickups and don't come with a hard case. They may even use other MIM components too like the bridge since its the old 6-screw style. All I know is they don't say Made in USA anywhere on the actual guitar, just "corona ca" on the back of the headstock... I do agree they look pretty cool though.

The build of AVRi series is more origin than American Original.
The new series 60pbass have no sexy colour choice like Avri. No chrome pickup and bridge cover.
I have no idea why FMIC announce this meaning less stuff.
Better keep the current great Avri product line and just provide more colour option.
Fender advertised all the Vintage bass models with a choice of 9 colors each.
Not kidding, it's true...
