Can't find info if the new V-Mod II pickups also combine Alnico II and V like the older version did. Was never a fan of those.

Absolutely no interest in spending £1700+ on a bass, especially seeing as I've fallen for short scales recently, but if I was I'd be very tempted by the 'Mercury' finish. That and the 'dark night' are lookers.
I thought my pro 1 already has rolled fingerboard edges. Strange they are advertising this as new.
I like the Mercury color. I’d love to see that with a tort guard.
I didn’t feel like the Am Pro 1 had it rolled. Then again, my comparison to my Am Pro P was a Road Worn P and the latter may have been too rolled. IDK.

Guess I don’t know what “rolled” actually means...the fingerboard on my Am Pro 1 is rounded where the fingerboard radius meets the curve of the back of the neck. The frets are all rounded here as well, and very smooth. Is this the same as rolled? It’s as if there a almost a backwards curvature in that part?

Oh, yeah I just watched a quick video on rolling edges, my Am Pro 1 has rolled fingerboard, 100%.
I had a Pro Jazz, the rolled off fingerboard is not as pronounced as Sire V2. I tested them all because I work in a music store. I bet Pro II have a more pronounced, rounder rolled off fingerboards, possibly as pronounced as Sire V2. IMO, Sire V2 board felt a bit too round for me because of that, like the strings would slip off easily.
I actually tried one of these out last night. I took my son down to a local store so he could demo some stuff. They just got a Jazz ProII in natural finish/maple fretboard. The bass was super comfortable! The neck felt great and that sculpted neck heel was a long time coming. Why they didn't do this years ago is beyond me. So overall a very comfortable and great playing bass. As for tone, something did strike me as a bit different than the usual passive Fender Jazz. Not sure if it was the V-mod pickups or the roasted pine body, but the tone didn't quite do it for me. Don't get me wrong, it was fine and I'm sure it could have been a number of factors (strings, setup I was playing through, etc...) but I wasn't as wowed as some of their other jazz models from previous years.

American Series, American Standards, and American Pro’s have always had rolled fingerboards.
These prices are getting very close to those offered by reputable custom builders.
Other than re-drilling, I wonder if the necks are still interchangeable with Pro I’s, American Standards, Standards, and Players?
I don't know why they don't offer these in a P/J configuration, you either have to go with the Ultra or the Performer.
