I was wondering if anyone has tried the new V-Mod II pickups. Anyone has done a/b comparison ? I’d like to get feedbacks before I go pull the trigger on an Am Pro 2 p-bass.

Empire Music on youtube does a comparison video. Basically, on the Precision bass it sounds better but the Jazz Am Pro I sounds more trebly than the Am Pro II which is warmer.

I liked the Pro II better for both the Precision and Jazz basses. Unfortunately, I've got a Pro I in both.

I have a 2018 Fender American Professional Precision bass. Anyone know the factor specifications for string height (at 17th fret) and the pickup heights?

I've got a generic Fender manual that says string height at 17th fret should be 6/64" on bass and treble sides. The manual also lists the following pickup heights but my 2018 model name is not there:
Bass Side Treble Side
Vintage Style Precision Bass 8/64" 6/64"

Standard Precision Bass 7/64" 5/64"

American Standard Precision Bass 7/64" 5/64"

Yup. Thank you! Ten minutes and she's dialed right in there. Fender American Pro is the easiest, most pain free bass I've owned to set up. Stays anchored in tune. And sounds great, too!

Just tracked the bassline for a new original anti-nuclear war protest song with my 2017 Fender American Professional p-bass and Ti jazz flats. Very impressed with this bass!! Here's the lyric video. The producer wants this demo to sell the song to a "name performer."
