Fender American Standard Jaguar Bass

I haven't been able to find a whole lot of "in the wild" pics of the Fender American Standard Jaguar Bass from 2014-2015. I decided to take a couple photos of mine (my main bass) and post them in hopes that it'd spark some interest in these amazing basses. Without further ado:

Have a CIJ jaguar and it’s a jewel of a bass. Been looking for USA version but I’ve had better luck finding Bigfoot.

I've got a black American Jaguar I plucked off Reverb after they'd been discontinued in 2017. I think it's the best and most versatile bass Fender has made in a long time and if I had to go with one type of bass for the rest of my life, it would be a Jaguar. Always amazed they didn't catch on, and they almost never seen to come up used. Not sure if I saw it here or on another forum, but some lucky dude picked up a red model for something like $700 recently, which is a STEAL.

I think the reason they come up for sale so rarely is because of their quality and versatility. No one who has one wants to get rid of it. I keep looking for another one to use as a back-up, but any that I come across are usually $1800-$2500. I'm glad I have the one I own!

I've got a black American Jaguar I plucked off Reverb after they'd been discontinued in 2017. I think it's the best and most versatile bass Fender has made in a long time and if I had to go with one type of bass for the rest of my life, it would be a Jaguar. Always amazed they didn't catch on, and they almost never seen to come up used. Not sure if I saw it here or on another forum, but some lucky dude picked up a red model for something like $700 recently, which is a STEAL.

The only thing that kind of bugs me on this is that with my particular slap technique (which I'm sure is wrong, and I'm no slap monster) my knuckle will hit the pickup selector switch (which isn't exactly blunt).
Other than that it's a tone monster.

I have a feeling the mismatched body pieces is a feature rather than an anomaly. Seems to me that a lot of the sunbursts have mismatched body pieces. Mine does.

I've been hunting for this specific jaguar model for a while now. Such an awesome bass.

@ThudThudThud I think most Am. Std. instruments came w/ 3-piece bodies, some had 2-piece. All the Am. Std. Jag basses I've seen have had 3-piece bodies, even the solid-colored ones.

@Rycebag I really wish they'd make an American Professional II version, w/ the contoured neck heel.

If Fender re-launched the American line with a sherwood green model, I'd be there in a second. Even more so with a matching headstock.

I sent an inquiry to FMIC Consumer Relations asking how many of these basses were made, and they replied that Fender produced around 390 of each color. Cool!

Interesting stat. In the scheme of things that American Jaguar is pretty rare!

Just bought a white one on reverb, after looking for months and months. Wasn’t cheap! Looking forward to getting it.
