Fender AVRI Basses

The AVRIs are really the only Fenders I have interest in anymore. The '62 Precision is still, in my opinion, one of the best basses Fender has ever produced, vintage, custom shop, or otherwise.

Since I purchased them here on Talkbass I dont know the build dates but the P is a 63 and the J is a 70’s. I’ll check into this further.
For the price and the build quality on this line.. it’s really hard to top.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. My biggest regret in bass is putting a $999 AVRI 58 P back on the hanger at GC to 'sleep on it'. Stupid stupid stupid. It sounded like heaven.
I’ve got 2, a 2016 AV 58 P and a 2023 AVII 1960 P. Also a 2018 Road Worn for good measure. I really enjoy them all, they play and sound great.

Wish I still had this warhorse. Bought it new from GC in Seattle in 2007 (it was dated October 31st, 2006 completion date) with some money from my Grandfather, and used it as my #1 for about 12 years until it was stolen here in LA. Had a heart shaped knot dead center of the back, all the wear was natural from playing it almost every day. Still holding out hope it turns up some day. Replaced it with another 2006 '62 (also made in October), which is also fantastic, though I play mostly 4001S and Thunderbirds these days.

Not much in the way of video of that '62, but there's at least these clips. They absolutely rip wound up into some big amps. I stand by my opnion that the Original '62 pickups that came in them are some of the best Precision bass pickups available.
Love the '62 P neck! In fact I've got one listed in the classifieds right now (hope that's kosher to cross-post).
