What's happening to the Chinese Basses then? Is the Modern Player now discountinued?

On the American site the Modern Player been marked/branded as 'Limited', and there doesn't seem to be anything announced that fills the niche?

Were the Chinese Fender basses an experiment to sort of test the water outside of the Squier brand, or are they going to move the production of the Standard model overseas at some point?

Interesting that it says the neck "has a thicker custom profile" since Geddy Lee basses historically have had thinner profiles.

Ha ha!! I had to laugh at this. I used to feel SOMEWHAT like this. Except that I didn't mind seeing red basses played by others. I just didn't like them for myself for some reason. But as the years have gone by, I've gradually changed my tune. I currently own a hand-stained Red Wine Jazz, and I'm getting an '09 Candy Cola Jazz (to be delivered today). Of course I AM old. Maybe I just can't see things like I used to...

I used to love Natural Ash Fenders. I have an AV Reissue '75 Jazz and a '75 P, both Natural w/maple boards. Now I'm finding THEM a tad boring. The AV Reissue is now up for sale in the Classifieds after being my go-to for years. Maybe it was the red ones that drove me to this act of insanity!!

Just goofing about red basses -- I actually love 'em all, including the naturals you mention -- been gassing for one myself!

I'm curious about the Standard Jaguar. I'd like a nice passive PJ, especially if it has the on/off pickup switches to make it easy to switch between all pups on or just neck/bridge.

I'm about sold on a white Standard Dimension. Would like to try one first, but looks good. Would rather a two pickup model, though.

Odd that its (afaik) the only Dimension model without the fender high mass bridge.
