Fender Bassman 100T Chapter 3

I am glad to hear you got your 100t resolved because it really is a great sounding amp. I have never posted until now but I have been following this thread and was hoping I had not made a mistake by buying this amp. I have read some of the other amp threads and it seems there are gonna be a few lemons no matter who makes it or where its made. good luck and keep on rockin

Apparently my original 100T had an older version of the auto bias software and had not been upgraded before it left the factory. But after 2 repair attempts Fender decided to change mine out and has restored my faith in their product.

I have always had real good luck with fender amps and I have owned a lot of them over 35 years of using them. they have always been my personal sound and found them to be reliable. I am gonna stick with the recommended start up with the 100t very very closely and with the five year warranty I feel pretty secure with my choice.

I have grown to accept that there will usually be some issues within early runs of a mass produced electrical item. What counts to me is that Fender has a decent warranty and is honouring it. My 100T was one of the very first out of the factory (I received it before they were even in the shops in the USA) and continues to work perfectly for the friend who bought it off me. Similarly, as I have posted before, my SB300 is flawless. I note that in the Ampeg V4B thread some owners are reporting issues and returning amps for a replacement. Ampeg, like Fender, are doing the proper thing and fixing or replacing without question. There will be some returns, it is the manufacturer's response and attitude that keeps me with Fender.

I guess I am lucky, I have only had one problem with a fender amp and it was replaced within 14 days. the new one has been working flawless now for three years. That service is hard to beat unless you get lucky with a store that happens to have another new one in stock to replace it with, and where I live it would be uncommon for that to happen. Good product and good service.

Have had mine for almost 2 years (damn that long?) and still rockin out. Has always worked flawlessly with authority to boot. Lovin it with my matching 610 neo. Recently getting very good with a pick and absolutely love the fat muted ghost note funkyness I'm getting from this rig. So balanced warm round and fat. Been really diggin on the active channel too recently. Love the passive jazz thru it. It's got some dimarzios in it. Keep thumpin fellas;)

Do you guys buy spare tube sets just in case a tube should fail? Both of my guitarists keep an extra set or two handy. I was looking at this set, Thoughts? Invalid Link Removed

So, last weekend I used my rig for an Easter service in a gym in front of about 900 - 1000 people. It sounded awesome! Volume on or about 5 with FOH support. Sound guy raved about the sound.

I have the original set of Power Tubes that came with the head (minus one that got broken). I wish it was the full set as a spare. I might get one replacement and then have been thinking about trying some other preamp tubes or getting spares.

I have had some time today just to play on the 100t and it seems to sound better each time I play it. I have not gigged with it yet but have laid down some tracks in the studio and it does not require much eq to get it to set in the mix. Really like the tone with the stock tubes.

I have a set of Winged C 6L6's for backup that I got an incredible deal on, but I don't take them to gigs, and I have 0 interest in "rolling" (eye roll) the tubes. I love the sound of the amp with the stock tubes - it sounds exactly like I want a tube amp to sound. I take my old GK 800RB to gigs as a backup.
