Fender Bassman 100T Chapter 3

Been playing on and off with tube heads for over 40 years. I learned the hard way very early on. Unless you have a backup head, always and I mean ALWAYS carry spare tubes and fuses! If you can't afford a full set at least carry power tubes with you. They take the most abuse and are more likely to fail than preamp tubes. Unless you like that big hole in the sound when the bass goes missing ;-)

No new post on here lately so I figured I would try to get the ball rolling . This is one nice sounding amp and the more I play it the batter it sounds. The vintage channel bass on 3, mid 10,treble on 2, pretty much flat into a svt-15e with an fender am, std. jazz with the neck pick up rolled back just a hair. Wonderful woody sound and sets in the mix quiet well. If I had to buy another amp this is what it would be. Can not help but smile its Friday and time to crank it up once more. I hope everyone is having as much fun as I am having. ROCK ON AND GOD BLESS

Not my main gigging bass, but i like the picture it makes: Please excuse the mess, was doing the seasonal setups!

Thanks I want because that is the tone I love, Went back and turned the amp on and let it warm up, then flipped the bypass off and green lights and tone was back to normal . I played about 45 minutes and no problems. Do you remember the days when we didn't worry about ohms or carry spare tubes or letting amps warm up and hauled them all over the place and never having a problem? Now days we baby our amps, boy do I miss the good old iron.

I do have some vintage bassman amps that still work just fine but they do not have the tone or head room of the 100t. I have tried a lot of hybrids but they did not have the tone I am looking for so I will just have to deal with it. Maybe I will have to buy a stroller. LOL

DTJ BASS.....ok...If i could find the brain power to figure out how to work this new site version of a PM,
I would send you one and ask you to send me your contact info and the serial and all that stuff and see if we can resolve any issues.
This may expose me as an ex-drummer....
Seriously though, if we can help you out, drop me a line.
Joemer, glad its all good.
All the best,
rob

Thanks Rob if I could find a way to contact you I would be glad to . I can put the serial number on here if that would help. I did send in the registration card. I tried the amp today and got red, yellow and green flashing lights never a steady green light. Thanks

I am sorry to hear that, DTJ Bass. Don't worry, Rob and the other guys at Fender will take care of you in the best way possible. I've had my troubles and they have sorted it again, with a superb customer service.

Hats off and thumbs up!
