Fender Bassman 100T Chapter 3

Should've been more clear. Its a vintage flip top 15. Green checker tolex. IDK too much about it, getting the specs later. Just have been gassing for a 15. Would have to trade the powerhouse 410 for it (Way too heavy/awkward to move). no idea as far as cash to or fro. Have to see/hear the cab first.

Mate I haven't done a A/B comparison with ANY of my Berg cabs but it sounds like a Damn good 115 to me so. .... As I've always liked good 115s (I've used em all my life-find em a good size for lugging and gigging) I'm thinking I'll grab 2 neo 115s and they'll do me for small and big gigs.
One for most, 2 for big gigs.
Sure will be strange not having ANY Berg cabs in the house. If that's the case.:thumbsup:

Iirc.... Fender stated that the old handles were made with faulty rubber- or something similar.
So the new ones probably do look the same but hopefully are stable
I gots me a rule. One of those ' everyone gotta follow type of rules' regarding my 100T head: IT IS NOT TO BE LIFTED OR CARRIED BY THE TOP HANDLE. I sorta insist on it. Works for me.;)

Marc
The scary thing is overly-helpful friends and fans. I've rescued mine three times now from someone taking off with it by the top handle.

Received my new handle today. Doesn't 'look' more solid than the previous one though I did not really 'test' it to avoid any dammage...... I'm wondering if I won't just remove it completely! The 2 side handles are way more solid.

On page 35 RODL2005 has a picture of his sb300 and it does not have a handle on top and I cannot see the holes for the handle and cannot see the plate that holds the head in the cab. looks like the way I wanna go.

I am now resolved and I have to thank the Fender staff for all their help and support. It took a very long time, but they did their job and as a customer I am happy about that. As a customer I want a great product, and also great service if needed. That is what Fender have done.
I have now taken the step from 100T to SB300. Hopefully my days with issues are now over, regardless of the step up!, and I can fully enjoy it. I am really looking forward to that. It sounds 'a million' and I can't wait to have more fun with it.

I will continue to check this thread because the 100T is a truly great amp. I was unlucky with my issues, I can accept that - it happens, but still recommend it to other people.

Glad to hear it Electrophonic and good luck with the SB300!
