Fender Bassman TV Series Amps

Anyone here own one of the new Bassman TV amps? I heard a guy play a 3/4 bass through a TV Fifteen and was blown away. really warm adn full sounding amp. I am reluctant to buy one because I have had bad luck with the Fedner Mexican-built tube amps in the past ( ie cheesy input jacks, noises, premature tube failure). I would love to find a nice tube amp for under $1000.00. Thanks

I bought one right after christmas or so and have played it at a few gigs. I would definitely agree with that description, my only gripe is that it seems really heavy for how big it is. Even running cheap basses through it, its been dead quiet, I haven't looked to see what the pre-amp tube is, but I might replace it with a nice one in the future.

very nice sounding combo, maybe one of the best ones on the market, but it disturbs me that a combo that costs $1000 isn't made to be expandable. to me, that's a real cheap-out move.

I know they are heavy and would only use it at home. I use my Markbass stuff for gigging. I agree about the inability to expand. Stupid move on Fenders part. Tell me which combos you guys bought. The 10, 12, or 15 ?

I have the 10 and the 12. Both are great, though I prefer the 10, as I really don't need a TON of volume, and the low and hi buttons are not needed by me. More for modern tones, which I don't use.

For me, personally ... I like the fact that they made it so that the full 350 watts is available to the internal speaker(s). If I wanted to use a big stack, I'd use a separate head ... but then again ... I have multiple amp setups. I can see where you might want that flexibility if a combo is your only rig.

yes, i agree that would have been nice if we're talking about a $500 200w combo. but not a $1000 350w combo where it's extremely doubtful it could take it all without sounding like it'll explode. especially when you can get 10,000w amps that weigh 5 lbs these days.
