Fender Blacktop Club

The mod is very easy, you just need a soldering iron and basic soldering skills. the cap is not necessary, but worth it, since you are resoldering everything anyhow.

It was like $13 in parts, and 30 minutes of work, and really, reallly made the bass come alive with different tones, different ranges of volumes.

I highly recommend it!

You need to make new holes in the body for them.
I thought about adding one over the neck pickup, was going to try with double sided tape to see if it interfered.

Sounds good to me. If it cant have negative side effects and more than likely a lot of positives its a GO! Ill be headed to GC tomorrow to pick them up.
As for the pickup cover i find myself playing over the neck pup for my sweet spot on by BT P bass. However, that leaves the bridge pickup available. Im not into cosmetics that much but i love the look of this thing on the p bass!! havent seen one over a bridge pup though...might be cool.:smug:

Hey StrangerDanger!

It looks like #13 has yet to be claimed. Mind putting a pin in it for some daffy photo-shopping dude who pulled the trigger on his own Blacktop earlier today? :D I'm certain he'll grace the club with pictures when it comes in straight from the manufacturer. :hyper:

13 is yours but now I need to pass on numbers to someone else. Shadowvampyre?

Does this count?

My Blacktop body with a MIM fretless neck.
This thing really growls. I'm glad I took the plunge and decided to do it.

So that's what a bass from The Twilight Zone looks like? All photo-negativey? Absolutely bad-ical!

Hey, guys,
My bridge is buzzing and I'm thinking of replacing it. I'm thinking of a Gotoh 201. Anyone put one of these on their Blacktop Jazz?
Is it a better bridge than the stock?
I'm hoping to fix a problem and make an upgrade at the same time.
