Fender Blacktop redesign, "The Redneck Bass"

Hi everyone. Here is one of my more recent projects. It's a Frankenstein'd version of a Fender Blacktop P Bass. I had an awesome Padouk neck with a Kingwood fingerboard on a super cheap body that I decided needed a more legitimate home. So I bought a Fender Blacktop body and had a friend custom make a pickguard for it. I traded all the chrome hardware for black, and put it all together. Here's the final result. I never expected it to turn out as awesome as it did. I hope everyone likes it!

Here's why I call it "The Redneck Bass":

Wow...that's cool, how did you make the pickguard?

I stumbled across some awesome looking telecaster pickguards on eBay, and had to find out just who is was that was making them. I found him and had him make me a special pickguard for my bass. I think it's a vinyl print that he covered with a glitter filled clear polyurethane. The bass looks particularly awesome under stage lights with the glitter. If you want something like it, I'd highly suggest you contact him. His name is Pete and he is a really nice guy. I definitely don't mind throwing any potential business his way. I'm going to have him make my next pickguard as well. Items in guitronics73 store on eBay!
