Fender Buys PreSonus

I hope they don't treat Presonus like they did Tacoma guitars and Genz Benz amps. Fender (FMIC?) bought two great product brands that I liked and buried them, turning my acoustic guitar and two bass amp heads into orphans.
Don't worry, Gibson doesn't buy other brands to plunder them. Er, I mean Fender.
Presonus has an increasingly large market share due to their better-than-most integration of hardware devices and their DAW/software. This was a smart move by Fender, or rather by their parent company, from a financial perspective as far as I can tell. If they just leave them alone it’ll probably remain profitable. If they get in and monkey around it’ll probably be bad for Presonus as a brand. Pure speculation on my part.
Definitely not. Any changes will almost certainly lag way behind the corporate takeover. Even then your existing products will continue to function and be supported until they’re aged out technologically.
People are always quick to forget, but the majority of the brands that disappear under Fender were brands that were already falling out of favor when Fender bought them. Presonus is still fairly popular, but I definitely don't see nearly as many people using their mixer compared to back when digital mixer started becoming more mainstream.
I'm on v4.6.2 so I'm already almost two years behind. Kind of in the "upgrade only if I have to" camp. It does the job. But it's feeling old these days....

Presonus is a great Hardware and Software company. Many successful innovations.
I think Presonus is shoring up it's future here.
This acquisition gives Fender a real chance at succeeding at both.

Hopefully Presonus tells Fender how to do software properly and Fender to tell Presonus how to do tube preamps properly. Maybe Fender will stop making pens
I have been a fan of presonus for more than 10 years now...
Their stuff was my way of getting into recording gear at an affordable price, studio one is one heck of a DAW, I used that for years too.
Let's just hope FMIC doesn't tank it, or shelf it.
