Apparently, most folks don’t realize how really smart of a guy Jim Odom is (nice as he can be, to boot). I can see no way he’d let something happen to Presonus under Fender’s or anyone else’s watch.
Well not to be a buzzkill but Bob Moog was a super intelligent guy and looked what happened to him.
The company he sold it to (Norlin I believe) ran it into the ground and bankruptcy; then they let the copyright's to the Moog name lapse....part of the deal was Bob had a non-compete clause and could not release products under his own name.
So TWO different fake Moog companies making synth gear pop up, and Bob wound up having to go to court just to get the use of his own last name back!
That's why for a long while his company was called "Big Briar", when I bought my Thermin kit from him (and he answered the phone when I called with some questions!) it was a "Big Briar" product.
I would say as a general outcome purchases/mergers/takeovers of great brands of music and pro audio gear have rarely resulted in a positive outcome. I hope Presonus is different.
