fender bxr club

Yeah mine was the BXR200 watt head MIM & it was o.k for 12 years.I had not serviced it once & was still going strong. It was loud but couldnt handle getting hot, once the amp would get really hot the sound would go as the heat got bigger !!
When i jammed with the boys it was flawless. At gigs i had P.A help & the amp was strong.
Again i regret selling it now.

i have a bxr 60 i've had for about 12 years. Always thought it was too underpowered to play in band situations. The built-in limiter makes slapping and popping die in the mix. Otherwise, for a personal practice amp it sounds pretty decent. I've held on to it for all these years because i never thought it would be worth selling.

I did use to use it to blast music from my computer in the dorm rooms when i was in college!

I have a BXR 60 that I bought used sometime in the mid-90's. For the last 6 or 7 years (maybe longer) it has lived in the trunk of my car since I use it as a rehearsal amp and I'm too lazy to unload it. It has been subjected to sub-0 temps as well as 100+ degree temps and humidity. It's not the greatest sounding amp but it is undeniably durable and reliable. My main rack rig has broken down a couple of times recently so I have been taking the BXR along as a backup.

Quote "I have a BXR 25. For a practice amp, it's a keeper. Light, sounds great at low volume, aux in, headphone out, preamp out, power amp in...for $90 used you can't beat it. Made in USA, it will probably outlive me."

My practice rig for almost 20 years.

My church has a 300C, and I'm regularly using that. Decent amp, just need to keep it off our stage since that stage booms haha.. Never turn it up past half and that fills a 700 seat auditorium. Plenty of power.

Sometimes am happy with the sound, other times not, I find it takes a while to find something nice and then one of the other bass players changes it hahaha aw well! Looking to upgrade that rig to a 4x10/head or a 2x10/head once the church gets a new sound system.

+1 to the BXR 25. I've had mine for about ten years. MIA,light weight, bullet proof. Never had a problem with it,and many would be surprised how loud it can get(for 75watts) when powering an ext. cab! I'll never take that one out of the rotation :)

I had a BXR 60 for a while. It's actually kind of a funny story. When I started playing bass, I didn't have my own amp, so I used the BXR 60 that the guitar player in my band had. I played on it for about 2 years in that band. When the band broke up I lost contact with him, then probably 2 years later, I went into a shop looking for a decent practice bass amp that I could take around for jam sessions if I wanted. I walked into a shop and saw a bxr 60 for $100, didn't think twice, bought it and then that week bumped into the guy who I used to be in a band with and told him I just bought one of those amps, and he told me he sold it to that shop the week before! It was like it was destined to stay with me!

Sadly, a few years ago when I was having financial troubles I sold it since I wasn't really using it very much. I was sad to see it go and still miss that amp, doesn't sound amazing, but it also doesn't sound bad, and it could get decently loud enough.

I don't have one, but I'm on the lookout for one after hearing the BXR-25 in this clip:

I read that the Frontman 25B is a more current version of the BXR-25, so I'm going to see if I can find one of those as well.

Glad you like that clip Thunderpulse. Alot of that tone you here is the Rickenbacker 4004L and the ambient tone of my garage. I was home (bored out of my mind), recovering from shoulder surgery when I shot that clip.:)

Had the same problem a few years ago. Once I spent the extra time dialing in the settings that I liked more than once, I took a pen and a piece of paper and drew a little diagram of the controls and where I had them set. Next time was a lot easier to re-set.

I have a BXR 400 cost only 220$, 11 slider eq, crossover, biamp. This amp rocks, although made my 'Fender' it was actually bulit by Sunn amps right after Fender bought them out, so this is actually a Sunn amp with a Fender name giving the buyer the most bang for buck out of any fender bassamp that i have ever seen! bulit like a tank, reliable large head room (peak) 550watts! great for funk and jazz. i have mine hooked up with some gk neo cabs one 15 and 2 10s can beat the sound.
